Legal

Cookie policy.

Last updated: October 2026

This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and comparable technologies the World Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology (WFITN), 7, rue de Castellane, 75008 Paris, France, uses on www.wfitn.org, what they are used for and how you can control them. Further information on how we process personal data is given in our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They allow the website to recognise your browser on later page views, for example to keep you logged in. Comparable technologies, such as storing data in your browser’s local storage, are treated in the same way in this policy.

2. Our approach

Under Art. 82 of the French Data Protection Act (Loi Informatique et Libertés) and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, cookies that are not strictly necessary may only be set with your prior consent. We therefore distinguish two groups:

  • Essential cookies are required for the website and the member area to work. They are always active and do not require consent.
  • Statistics cookies help us understand how the website is used. They are only set after you have accepted them in our consent banner.

Before you make a choice, the website sets no cookies and loads no content from third-party servers. We do not use marketing or advertising cookies and do not embed social media plugins or third-party videos.

3. Essential cookies

Consent management (Borlabs Cookie)

  • borlabs-cookie: stores your consent choices for the cookie groups and services. Lifetime: 60 days. Set by: www.wfitn.org.

Member login (WordPress)

Only set when you log in to your member account.

  • wordpress_logged_in_[hash] and wordpress_sec_[hash]: keep you logged in and protect your session. Lifetime: until you close your browser, or 14 days if you select “Remember me”.
  • wordpress_test_cookie: may be set to check whether your browser accepts cookies. Lifetime: session.
  • wp-settings-[ID] and wp-settings-time-[ID]: store interface settings for staff using the administration area. Lifetime: one year. Not set for members.

Membership fee payment (WooCommerce)

Only set when you add a membership fee to the cart or pay it.

  • wp_woocommerce_session_[hash]: links your browser to your cart and checkout. Lifetime: 2 days.
  • woocommerce_items_in_cart and woocommerce_cart_hash: detect changes to the cart. Lifetime: session.
  • woocommerce_recently_viewed: remembers recently viewed products where this function is used. Lifetime: session.

When you pay by card, you are redirected to the payment page of our payment service provider Nexi (Computop Paygate). That page is outside our website and may use its own cookies, which are needed to carry out the payment securely. Please see the privacy information on the payment page.

Legal basis for essential cookies: Art. 82 Loi Informatique et Libertés (strictly necessary for a service you have requested) and Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.

4. Statistics cookies (Matomo)

Only set if you have consented to the group “Statistics”. We use the web analytics software Matomo to measure how our website is used. The Matomo instance is operated on our behalf by an external service provider.

  • _pk_id.*: stores a pseudonymous visitor ID to recognise returning visitors. Lifetime: 13 months.
  • _pk_ses.*: temporarily stores data for the current visit. Lifetime: 30 minutes.
  • _pk_ref.*: stores the website from which you reached us. Lifetime: 6 months.
  • _pk_cvar.*: temporarily stores additional data about the visit. Lifetime: session.
  • _pk_testcookie.*: checks whether your browser accepts cookies. Lifetime: session.

Depending on the Matomo configuration, further Matomo cookies shown in the service overview below may be used.

Legal basis: your consent, Art. 82 Loi Informatique et Libertés and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

5. Changing or withdrawing your consent

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future using the button “Change your consent” below. When you withdraw consent, the statistics cookies are no longer used. You can also delete cookies or block them in general in your browser settings; please note that the member area will not work without essential cookies.

Your consent choice is recorded in our database with a random identifier, the consent version and a timestamp so that we can demonstrate it. Your IP address is not recorded for this purpose.

6. Your rights and contact

For questions about this Cookie Policy and to exercise your data protection rights, please write to secretary@wfitn.org. Information about your rights and your right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL is given in our Privacy Policy.

7. Changes to this policy

We update this Cookie Policy when we change the cookies or services we use. The current version is always available on this page.

You can view and change your consent for cookies and comparable technologies at any time.
