An international federation for interventional neuroradiology.

The World Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology is chartered as an international scientific non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of the interventional and therapeutic neuroradiology discipline focussed on endovascular neurosurgery throughout the world.

Mission

Dedicated to the advancement of endovascular neurosurgery worldwide.

The World Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology (hereafter “the Federation”) is chartered as an international non-profit organization, dedicated to the development and advancement of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology throughout the world. The Federation was chartered in 1990 and is registered at the Prefecture of Paris.

WFITN provides education, collaboration, scientific exchange, courses, congresses, journal access, and global society coordination for the neurointervention field. Additional initiatives include Women in INR mentorship and observership support, as well as grants and international federation assembly coordination.

The mission of the Federation, as laid down in Article 2 of the Constitution, is to promote all aspects of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology; to coordinate the activities of its members; to coordinate interdisciplinary relations with other specialties dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of central nervous system disorders; and to promote appropriate methods of teaching and standards of training and certification.

Foundation

1990

WFITN is chartered as an international non-profit federation and registered at the Prefecture of Paris.

Ethics Charter

2016

The WFITN Ethics Charter sets the ethical and organisational rules for proctoring and live teaching.

Endowment Fund

2018

The Fonds de dotation of the WFITN is set up to support the training of future neuroradiologists.

Special Amendment

2021

A special virtual General Assembly extends the Executive Committee term by one year during the COVID-19 disruption.

Women in INR Grant

2022

The first Women in INR observership grantee visits Toronto Western Hospital.

Anatomy Course Zurich

2026

The Functional Neurovascular Anatomy in Stroke course is held in Zurich with 18 European CME credits.
