Posterior spinal epidural veins

Ventral epidural space related to the notochord; no primary role in pial venous drainage. Pial reflux if thrombosis or high flow shunt

Lateral epidural space primary related to pial venous drainage; reflux always present
Posterior epidural space related to the confluence of posterior epidural venous plexuses and bony draining veins; pial reflux if thrombosis or high flow shunt.
